 9/11On September 11 Al-Qaeda the Islamic Extremist Group kidnapped four airplanes for suicide attacks against targets in the United States. Two of the planes crashed into the twin towers in the World Trade Center in New York. Over 3000 people were killed including more than 400 police officers and firefighters. From that day on the security control all over the country has changed mostly in airports. |  Anthrax AttacksAfter 9/11 anthrax occurred within the United States, when letters with Anthrax spores were found in letters sent to news media offices and Democratic U.S senators. The result were 5 dead people and 17 others infected. |

 Copa America Colombia 2001From July 11 to 29 Copa America was held in Colombia. It was organized by CONMEBOL the South America's soccer governing body. The winner was Colombia. --------------------------------- Soccer is a very important sport in Colombia, and as host we celebrated it with excitement. I was 11 years old and I enjoyed every celebration when Colombia won a game. |
