 Pathfinder Lands on MarsOn July 4th the spacecraft landed in Mars and opened in order to begin many experiments on the surface of Mars. The purpose of the experiment was explore Martial atmosphere, geology, climate and the composition of its rocks and soil. |  Madeleine AlbrightOn January 23th, Madeleine Albright became the first female to occupy the position of U.S Secretary, she was the highest-ranked woman in the history of U.S government. In this year she played an important role in a peace mission to the Middle East, arranging negotiations between Israel and different Arab nations. |

 Mother TeresaMother Teresa was known because of her unselfish love to others and the necessity of helping those in need. In 1979 she was awarded with the Nobel Peace Prize because of her work "in bringing help to suffering humanity." She died on September 5th at age 85 because of her multiple health issues like heart, lung and kidney problems. |  Princess Diana of WalesOn August 31, Princess Diana of Wales died in a car accident in the Pont de L'Alma road tunnel in Paris. It was an event that really shocked the world since Diana was known because of her sense of helping other. People accused the paparazzi for the accident but it was found that it was the driver's responsibility. --------------------------------- Even though I was 8 years old, I admired Princess Diana, and my dream was to become in a princess like her because of her kindness. |
 TitanicIt was released on December 19th. The director James Cameron wanted to show an epic romantic disaster, where Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet, the stars of the movie, represented member of different social classes who felt in love aboard the ship. It was nominated for 14 Academy Awards including the award of Best Picture and Best Director. |  The Rests of Che GuevaraThe rests of Che Guevara, the Argentine, Marxist revolutionary, guerrilla leader, diplomat, and military were laid to rest with all the military honors in a mausoleum located in Santa Clara, Cuba, where he fought and won an important battle 39 years before. |
 Mini-CrashThe mini-crash was the stock market crash occurred on October 27th, because of an economic crisis in Asia. It was considered a "mini-crash" because the percentage of loss was relatively small compared with others crashes. |  Chicago Bulls NBA ChampionsIt was an unforgettable championship played on January 15th where the Chicago Bulls won the NBA Championship. In that game Michael Jordan was suffering from flu-like symptoms and food poisoning. The played and won against the Utah Jazz. |
