AIDS Virus TracedIt was thought that the HIV and AIDS virus were originated from the chimpanzees that live in the forests of Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea, Republic of Congo, and Central African Republic. | Columbine High School MassacreThe massacre occurred on April 20th at Columbine high school in Littleton, Colorado. The gunmen were senior students, Eric Harris, 18, and Dylan Klebold 17. The two students killed 12 students and 1 teacher and injured 21 additional people and then they killed themselves. The hypothesis for the massacre was first that there were bullied at school, or that they were influenced by violent music and video games, but any of those have been proven. |

Hugo Chavez PresidentHugo Chavez became president of Venezuela on February 2nd. His term lasted 13 years. He made changes in the Venezuela constitution, modified the powers of the congress and the judicial system. One of the changes to the constitution was the name change of Venezuela by the name of Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. He sold oil to Cuba, tried to stop narcotic trafficking in Colombia, and because of his many new commands he began a stressful relationship between Venezuela and the United States. | George HarrisonOn December 30th, former Beatle George Harrison and his wife suffered from an attacked by an stranger in which George was attack with a kitchen knife several times piercing one of his lung and causing head injuries. --------------------------------- I really like the Beatles and when I found about this I knew it was going to be an important part of my list of events in the world. |
Earthquake in ColombiaAn earthquake in Colombia of 6.0 in the Richter scale shake the western of Valle del Cauca on January 25th. The event left at least 273 dead and 900 wounded. The cities of Armenia, Pereira and Calarca were hardest hit. |
